Customer Question

I have a 3.4lb Poodle-Pomeranian mix. She 12-yrs old and has always had an appetite of a Great Dane. For the last 4-days, she's become very lethargic, won't eat or drink Her weight has gone down from 3.4lb to 2.8lbs. The vet says her heart and lungs are working just fine. They took blood and urine samples. Because she has always had a hardy appetite and drank lots of water, could it be her liver or kidneys? If so, is there anything I can do now until I get the results from the Vet?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.
Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:
Has her vet started her on any treatments while waiting for the results?
Has she been passing more urine lately? Has it been watery/dilute?
What color are her gums? Pink, yellow tinted, or white?
Has she had any vomiting, retching, gaggging, grass eating, or lip licking?
