Ask a Dog Vet and Get Answers to Your Dog Health Questions
Welcome to justanswer! I am Dr. Altman and happy to assist you both today!I am so sorry no one has assisted you both yet today. At the first sign of vomiting please have him seen by your veterinarian to ensure there is not an obstruction as a result of this ingestion- Add white rice to his meals and make the meals smaller and more frequent to bulk up his stool and help push things through more readily- Increase leash walks, three to four times daily at least 15 minutes which increases motility of the gut and hopefully get this foreign object through to the other end faster- It should (or its pieces) pass within 48 hours so I would be keeping a close eye on his feces for a few daysAgain if there is any vomiting then please have him seen by your veterinarian to rule out a foreign body. If he chewed it up at all it should pass without incident but if not this can be an issue that will require medical and possibly surgical interventionPlease let me know how else I can assist you both today
