Customer Question

The sound of Our boxer woke me up at three am. I thought she was licking something up. When I looked she was frothing at the mouth and shaking her head. And kinda glopping her mouth like when eating peanut butter. I found soft poop in a big pile near her and our bed and by the front door and little spots between. I let her into the back yard where she quickly went from place to place. I thought to eat grass but didn't . Anxious? This has gone on for 30 minutes. Thanks

Aloha! You're speaking to Dr. Michael Salkin
I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please let me know if you still need help. Laya's behavior - increased salivation - at 3 AM indicated nausea due to gastrointestinal distress which was also evidenced by her diarrhea and urgency. The cause of her behavior is unclear although simple dietary indiscretion - ingesting something new, inappropriate, spoiled, or perhaps a non-food item should be suspected in an otherwise normal dog. Most dogs will remiss unaided from such an indiscretion within 36 hours.
May I have an update on Laya, please?
