I am sorry to hear you are worried about sugar. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help. How long ago did this start? Could she have been injured, bitten or stung? How much does she weigh? How much baby aspirin did you give her?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
she weighs about 2.5 lbs. she could have been injured. There was a 6yr boy (not well behaved) here the day before I noticed the swelling. Also she was playing in the yard for a while so she could have been bitten or stung. I crushed an 81 mg aspirin & mixed it with wet would be hard to say how much she injested. She is eating very well today but still can not tolerate being touched around her mid section

this started about 5 days ago, I also wrapped her with an ace bandage, which seemed to help her move around better,

I am sorry I was not online when you got back to me. A 2.5 pound dog should get about 10 mg of aspirin, so I hope she did not get the whole 81 mg. If she is that painful, I would recommend prescription pain medication, in a dose safe for such a little dog. That means having her checked by your veterinarian. I would start her on meloxicam, which comes as a liquid and could be precisely dosed for a dog this small. How is she doing now? If she got too much aspirin, you might see vomiting, loss of appetite and possibly internal bleeding. If she is eating and her gums are pink, that is a good sign.
