It would be prudent to induce emesis with 45 ml (3 measuring tablespoons) of 3% hydrogen peroxide dosed between his cheek teeth and cheek with a small poultry baster. He should vomit within 15 minutes. If not, please repeat the same dose. Any ingestion approaching 0.5 mg/kg should trigger decontamination and charcoal administration. 97 lbs = 44 kg 30 g (one ounce)/44 kg = 0.68 g/kg or 680 mg/kg. Once he vomits, please bring him to a veterinary ER for charcoal administration which needs to be done 6 times over an 8 hour period to reduce enterohepatic circulation. This was a life-threatening ingestion and so if you don't have any more peroxide at home or he doesn't vomit in spite of two doses of peroxide, please bring him directly to the ER. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
