Do puppies out grow their smell? Can a change in food cure the problem?

Thanks for your question. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.
If you are smelling "puppy breath", a smell from the mouth, it will go away in a couple of weeks.
If the smell is coming from his body, or his rear end, there could be infection, digestive problems, or diarrhea. A healthy dog should not smell bad.
At 8 weeks, he should be due for vaccinations, starting heartworm preventative, worming. When you go to your vet, ask about the smell. It is probably "puppy breathe", and he will soon outgrow that forever.
