Customer Question

My dog is very agitated shaking her head, clawing at carpet, can't settle down, crying, she is trying to relax and cant she jumps up after a few minutes and runs to another room to shake her head and claw and cry all over again. We took a walk today a lot of things blooming grasses, flowers etc. I gave her a benedryl and a rimadahl, still not settleing down. sometimes she jerks and her ears jerk uncontrollably. She hasn't thrown up just acting real strange. Can you help?

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. It does sound as if Lola is suffering from a hypersensitivity reaction - to a food, envenomation, chemical, or vaccination. Please let me know if you still need help. Most of these reactions abate within 36 hours unaided. Those that persist are best treated with a corticosteroid such as prednisone rather than an antihistamine such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl).
