Hello, I'm Dr. Deb. I'll do my best to help you today.
I'm sorry that Missy has a wound which hasn't healed.
I have a few suggestions in addition to the cream you've been using:
1. I assume you've been cleaning it? I'm not sure what you've been using but I like over the counter dilute Betadine or Iodine (to the color of weak tea) or products which contain Chlorhexidine (Hebiclens is a good product) since both have anti-bacterial properties.
2. I've become a huge fan of Vetericyn spray which does not contain any alcohol (so it doesn't sting or burn) but can quite effectively increase healing time for many different lesions involving the skin.
This product may be available at local pet or grain stores or online.
If the lesion isn't healing as expected, then you might discuss culturing it with your vet since there may be an unusual bacteria growing in it.
I'd also consider that there may be a foreign body present which is causing continuous drainage which is why it's not healing.
I hope this helps. Deb
