When addressing susceptible bacterial infections such as Bordetella bronchiseptica (kennel cough), I dose doxycycline at 2.3 mg/lb twice daily for 7-14 days. That would be equivalent to 115 mg for a 50 lb dog. 1/4 of a 500 mg tablet twice daily would be appropriate. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
