Customer Question

My chihuahua is 8 lbs, 15 years old.
I have been feeding him vitamin E (400 IU)
Everyday for 4 months.
He has been noticebly recovering from fur and hair loss especially forehead and neck area, full of fur and hair now.
He has diagonized a bladder cancer 6 months ago. He has been suffering from controlling urination and also stools.
My question is :
Can I increase the dosage of vitamin E for him daily from from 400 IU to 800 IU without any problems?
Your answer would be greatly appreciated.

Hello & welcome, John. I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.

I am very sorry to hear about Tiger's recent diagnosis. In regards ***** ***** question, as long as you wean the dose up slowly (since we can see diarrhea/loose stools with quick changes to their dose), then you can safely double his daily treatment to 800IU if you wish to do so.

I hope this information is helpful.

If you need any additional information, do not hesitate to ask!

All the best,

Dr. B.
