Aloha! You're speaking to Dr. Michael Salkin
I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Aimless pacing is worrisome for encephalopathy - brain disorder - particularly involving the cerebrum and thalamus (forebrain). Lyme can cause central nervous system signs which would indicate chronic infection that had eventually made its way into her brain. Alternatively, and more commonly, brain tumor in a 10 year needs to be considered.
This behavior can be a challenge to clarify often necessitating advanced imaging such as MRI and cerebrospinal fluid analysis in an attempt to spot an infectious agent such as Borrelia burgdorferi - the agent of Lyme.
Painful dogs will pace as well. A thorough physical exam is indicated in attempt to localize that pain. If will be difficult to localize it to her brain, however. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
