I am sorry to hear you are worried about Jam.
I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.
I looked up Unisom, and found it is doxylamine, not Benadryl. Did he get both? How long ago did he get it?
Expert:  Rebecca replied 2 years ago.
I have been doing some research. If he got either Benadryl, or Doxylamine, he got about 5 times the recommended dose for a dog his size. This could make him drowsy for awhile, or could have the opposite effect of making him hyperactive and excitable.
If he just got it, within the last hour, you could try to induce vomiting by putting 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide in some milk or ice cream. It should make him vomit in 5 to 10 minutes, and if he vomits the pill you should have no worries.
Let me know how he is doing and what else I can answer.
