Customer Question

my little dog ate a piece of chicken (kind of dry) and then acted like it couldn't get it down. He is swallowing, etc, and I checked his throat for the piece of meat. Now his breathing is like a snore. He is a shi shu and does snore, and grunts when sleeping. What do I need to do? If anything/

Welcome to JustAnswer. I'm a licensed veterinarian and I'll be happy to help.
If his breathing like a snore is unusual for him, then you may need to have him checked. However, if you look at his gums and they are nicely pink and not purple or blue, then he is getting enough oxygen. Are his gums a good color?
