I was on pet meds and they say need prescription for tramadol

Hello and thank you for asking your question. My name isXXXXX will try to help.

That is correct. Tramadol is a prescription only medication.

You will have to get a prescription from your vet. The, you can have it filled t pet-meds.

Or, you could just buy it directly from the vet.

We are not allowed to script out medications without examining the patient in person.

Do you have any additional questions?

okay, I cant afford the cost they want 300 dollars to see him, he is 6 year old german shepard with bad hip problems.

You tried aspirin right? How much does he weigh and how much aspirin did you give him?

Have you tried any of the joint supplement, with msm, chondroitin, and glucosamine?

Omega-3 fatty acids help too. An easy source is fish oil.

I work at the local SPCA sometimes. They have a clinic for low income people. You could call your local SPCA, animal shelters, rescue groups, and see if they can help you out.

300 seems really high. I would just get an exam and some pain medication. The 300 is probably for hip x-rays too.

yes I believe they said that was a minium to assume. spca I will call now

Ok, if that does not work, I can recommend some joint supplements and give you the highest recommended dose of aspirin. But the medications you get from the vet will be the best.
