Customer Question

use of nabumetone for dogs? If it's useful what mg/kg dose should be given?

No, Nabumetone is not well tolerated at all in dogs. It causes vomiting and can cause ulcers in the stomach and intestine. It can also cause kidney failure in higher doses.

We typically use Carprofen (Rimadyl), Deramaxx or Metacam as far as anti-inflammatory meds.

If you want to try something over the counter first, you can go with Aspirin at a dose of 10 mg/kg every 12-24 hours as needed.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
