Dr. Deb :

Hi there, I'm Deb, a licensed veterinarian.

Customer:

Hi Denise

Customer:

so what can I use to help my dog?

Dr. Deb :

You can try Benadryl... but there is an herbal formula...

Dr. Deb :

called Rescue Remedy

Customer:

like what herbal, or how much benadryl for a 70+pd?

Dr. Deb :

Benadryl would be 1 mg per pound.

Customer:

I have resuce remedy but How much should I give him, this is going to a long day for him

Dr. Deb :

I'm checking that now...

Customer:

I feel terrible that I forgot to get him something, he's under my desk as far as he can go

Customer:

how much of each and how often?

Dr. Deb :

The typical recommendations are.... 10 drops each morning for 8 weeks then use as often as every 15 minutes during stress like thunderstorms, travel etc. One does not see a drug effect. The effects are subtle, and some dogs are helped and some are not.

Dr. Deb :

How much does he weigh? And, what's his name and breed?

Customer:

70+ he is a husky malamute mix, Balto

Dr. Deb :

He can have 2 or 3 of the 25 mg Benadryl every 8-12 hours (two to three times a day).

Customer:

Ok I think I'll do that , thanks Happy 4th

Dr. Deb :

You too!
