Hello there,

How long ago was it ingested?

What type of leash?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
some time within the last couple of hours . .probably nylon . .but I'm not sure
Expert:  Dr. Scott replied 6 years ago.
If it was ingested over an hour ago it is too late to induce vomiting. If the leash was nylon it will not digest and will have to pass as swallowed. It could easily cause an obstruction in the intestines. If the dog will eat, mineral oil can be mixed into the food the lubricate the intestines and help the material pass. It should pass within 24 hours if it does not get stuck. If she stops eating, starts vomiting or strains to defecate, the abdomen should be radiographed to rule out an obstruction.
