My dog is making a repetitive snorting sound (like gasping)

My dog is making a repetitive snorting sound (like gasping) it sound like something stuck in her throat when she lies quietly it does not happen. It seems to occur when she is getting up the gasping seems to stress her, like what's going on look in her face. What is this? and should I get her help immediately

Hi there.

This sounds like it could be due to a Reverse Sneeze. This is a spasm that does not cause any harm to Jesse and there is no treatment. Look at these videos to see if Jesse looks like this:

If this is not what is causing this, there is a possibilty of an allergic reaction similar to asthma. Give Jesse Benadryl at 1 mg per pound every 12 hrs until you can get her to your vet.
