Ask a dog vet and get answers to your dog health questions
Hi. I'm Dr. Lee and will do my best to help.
Has your puppy had the first vaccine?
Is he interested in food right now?
Is he playful or lethargic?
Thanks for the info.
I would be very concerned about parvovirus infection. At 14 weeks old, he should have had at least 2 vaccine injections. Parvovirus is very deadly without immediate diagnosis and treatment. Another possibility is foreign body obstruction, which can also be deadly if not treated promptly. He needs to go to the ER immediately for exam and parvovirus testing. If that is negative, then x-ray is needed. He will at least need to get an anti-vomiting injection as well as rehydration with fluid therapy. Please do not delay. He needs to go the ER as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks.
