Hello, I'm Dr. Bob.
What you have described is an intermittent obscure lameness, one of the most difficult and frustrating conditions veterinarians must try to treat.
Your veterinarian has, so far, proceeded in precisely the correct manner to try to diagnose and treat this condition.
The list of possible diagnoses is as follows:
Trauma - hairline fracture(s)
Dislocation of a joint or joints
Toenail trauma
Bone contusion(s)
Osteomyelitis (fungal or bacterial)
Osteochondrosis
Panosteitis
Hypertrophic osteodystrophy
Non-united anconeal process
Vitamin D deficiency
Bone or other tumors
Joint disease
Muscle conditions: Trauma, contusion, strain, laceration, rupture
Canine idiopathic polymyositis
Dermatomyositis
Tendon trauma
Ligament trauma
As you can see the list is quite long, if only Libby could tell you where it hurts, it would help narrow things down a bit.
The above conditions vary in the likelihood of their presence, with panosteitis being one of the more likely.
Perhaps if you sit down with your veterinarian and compare this list with the symptoms and results of whatever testing has been done, you can formulate a treatment plan that will offer Libby some help.
If you should have further questions, please let me know.

WHAT IS PANOSTETIS???
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Bob, Veterinarian replied 8 years ago
Hello again.
It's a painful condition of long bones that is self-limiting in growing dogs. The medium and large breeds are the usual victims of this painful, but harmless condition.
The cause of this condition is unknown, but the treatment Dr. K has prescribed is exactly correct.
This should pass in 1 to 3 weeks, but may shift to other legs for the same amount of time each.. and may flare up repeatedly over a period of months.
If I may be of further assistance, please let me know.
Best regards,
Dr. Bob
