Ok 3 wks ago my vet diagnosed saint with an allergy problem so he was put on amoxicillin and prednisone and pepcid ac then about a week later I took him back cause his nostril had off white discharge coming out of one side and he was sneezing and reverse sneezing so vet said could be like a sinus infection and d/c other meds and put on clemastine and tobramycin eye drops to be put in each nostril then another week later I called vet to say he was about the same with off white discharge coming out of other nostril and not te original nostril so vet said it's gotta be a foreign body and sent referral to auburn vet university hospital for a scope but I decided to get a second opinion with another vet first and he said with the discharge and sneezing and reverse sneezing being mainly in the am only and not other times of the day that he wanted to try a stronger antibiotic and different antihistamine so put saint on clavamox and chlor trimenton 4 mgs for 7 days. I just wanted to see what u thought about this and get your expertise. Thanks

What does it mean when I see saint rubbing his face on ground or on me a few times a day ?
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Andy, Medical Director replied 8 years ago

Facial rubbing can occur due to underlying allergies, gingival disease, nasal irritation, dental problems, to name a few. An acute onset of the rubbing can be due to a hypersensitivity reaction like an insect bite.
