Hello I'm Dr. Bob. I need a little more information to be able to offer you an informed opinion. Is your girl spayed? Have you noticed any color changes in her stool, for instance is it dark brown or black?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

Hi Dr. Bob,

Yes, she's been spayed. And her stool has been a little dark...maybe a dark brown color. Any idea? Smile

Hi again, Sorry for the delay, I was out to supper!
Any kind of blood loss can lead to an iron-deficiency anemia and seeking rust is one of the symptoms.
Bleeding into the stool (dark color) due to clotting defects, parasites and other problems can cause iron-defiency.
You need to get her stool checked and her blood tested by your veterinarian if you want to track down this odd behavior's cause. I hope you follow through on this warning sign!
Best of luck, Dr. Bob
