Siberian Husky: My 12 year..12 year old..cushing..last few days

Customer Question

My 12 year old Siberian Husky who has Cushing's disease has been having a gray discharge from his penis. He also has been drinking more water the last few days? What is causing the discharge?

Hi Bonmay,
Dogs with Cushing's are more prone to urinary infections that other dogs. The increased thirst, and the unusual color discharge could be signs this. I would do a urinalysis to find out. Taking a urine sample to your veterinarian is where I would begin. If I were examining your dog, I would also look at his sheath and penis, to see if there is any source of this discharge there. Hope this helps, Rebecca
