Where are these tumors located--skin, internal organ? Did your vet give you any idea of what kind of tumor it is--fatty, mast cell, unknown?

There are a variety of different cancers that dogs can get, some are benign and surgically removing them is curative. Others are more malignant, but can be locally malignant (meaning wide surgical margins can be curative), others can spread to the lungs or other organs. There is chemotherapy options or radiation treatments for many malignant cancers. Some cancers, such as lymphoma, respond very well to chemotherapy and the dogs can survive sometimes several years with treatment. Other cancers, like bone cancer, have a much poor prognosis.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have other questions.
