I have cleared the code several times and it always returns upon starting the engine. the engine runs perfect from idle to high speed and with normal gas mileage. if this is the computer issue can this be checked instead of just changing parts thanks john
JA: When did you last clean or replace your air filter? And are the oxygen sensors in good working order?
Customer: about 6 k miles I cleaned my K& N filter that I had in it since new, the truck had 217K miles on it and no other codes at all
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2007 dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi
JA: Are you fixing your Ram 1500 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes, I plan to. I changed the oil about 2K ago. spark plugs changed at 200K
JA: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: there are 4 of the deactivation valves mounted under the intake which is a considerable job, but because I have no operational issues at all I hate to change the deactivation valves if it is the computer.

On your 07 Hemi, once the intake manifold is removed then you can test the wiring from the PCM to the mds solenoid to proove whether or not it is the PCM or the solenoid at fault. The PCM is the very last thing to consider since it is rarely at fault. More than likely you just have a faulty solenoid that needs to be replaced.
