Did you have the misfire before you replaced the spark plugs?
Ask Your Own Dodge Question

no
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
misfire started after the cap &rotor
Dodge Mechanic: Chris, Shop Foreman replied 3 months ago
Ok, then you may have got a defective spark plug or the gap is wrong. Pull that plug back out and look at it.

ok I changed the cap- no change changed the wires-no change, changed the plug-no change still a misfire on #5
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
think I need to take it to a shop for diagnostic test.
Dodge Mechanic: Chris, Shop Foreman replied 3 months ago

Hmmm, very strange. Seems like you have covered pretty much everything except for a low compression issue, but the fact you did not have a misfire before, you did the work is bugging me.

does the wire routing matter that much?
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
Does the wire routing matter?
Dodge Mechanic: Chris, Shop Foreman replied 3 months ago

No it should not matter. Just as long as the firing order is correct.

Chris

could there be a sensor somewhere that is messed up?
Dodge Mechanic: Chris, Shop Foreman replied 3 months ago

Probably not, but a bad fuel injector for the # 5 cylinder could have coincidentally failed, or something mechanical like a rocker arm, valve may have failed.
