Customer Question
I seem to have...

I seem to have a bad connection in the ignition. I replaced the ballast resistor, and the lock cylinder recently. I would have to turn the key a few times before it would crank, not it won't connect at all

Mechanic's Assistant: Can you turn the steering wheel at all? And what about the key? Is it worn or damaged?

Key is new

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Dodge?

84 Ram Charger

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Ram yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes. I replaced the ballast resistor, and the lock cylinder

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Battery on the voltage meter reads 12 volts

If you take a 12-volt test light and or a voltmeter do you have battery voltage coming out of the ignition switch on the orange wire while holding the key in the crank position?

Please do, the orange wire feeds power to the starter solenoid.

What Customers are Saying:

I AM VERY GLAD THAT I TOOK A CHANCE ON YOUR PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS. I WAS SUCCESSFUL IN REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP. MY TRUCK RUNS LIKE A CLOCK. IT RUNS LIKE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. NO LUNGING FORWARD, THE TURBO REACTS THE SECOND I STOMP ON THE GAS, AND IT HAS A LOT MORE POWER AND EVEN SOUNDS BETTER TO ME. IT SAVED ABOUT $500.00 BY DOING THE WORK MYSELF. I GIVE YOU ALL THE CREDIT FOR YOUR DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, JUST FROM THE SYMPTONS I GAVE YOU OVER THE e MAIL. I WILL USE YOUR WEB SITE AGAIN AND REFER MY FRIENDS. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP.
