Engine light on and service electronic throttle control

Mechanic's Assistant: Do you have the trouble code? Do you have a code reader or scan tool?

Yes

Mechanic's Assistant: Great. If you share the code with me, I'll pass it along to the Dodge Mechanic. He'll be able to diagnose your issue much faster with a code. What is the model/year of your Dodge?

Ok 2016 mega cab 4x4 codes are as follows po106 po868 p226c u059e po652 po405 po2e7 p2493

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Cab yourself? What have you tried so far?

Went to dealership because I have a extended warranty and they said the egr valve was bad so they replaced it but about 100 miles later it started doing the same thing and the exhaust system is not under warranty anymore

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

The truck does alot of jerking when the light is on

Disconnect both batteries. Touch the negative and positive terminals together for a few seconds to discharge the memory voltage. Make sure you have both batteries disconnected

It is getting dark so can't see well can we contact you again to resume trouble shooting this problem
Dodge Mechanic: David Gieswein,
 replied 9 months ago

Ok, now you are going to have to find out what they are again. Usually I erase them and then restart the vehicle and see what comes back first. Most of the time I find that some codes will cause other codes to set. You can go to autozone to get the codes or buy a cheap scan tool at O'reileys. I bought a Bosch one for $100 at Oreileys and it even reads data stream

In case you are interested in buying a scan tool. the one I bought is a Bosch OBD 1100. It was $99. I have used it on several cars and even on a few cars my $2500 snap on scan tool wont work on. It will even allow you to view the data stream which is very important. Even if you don't a complete understanding of all the data, I could ask you for a specific piece of data and you could just scroll down till you find it. The 1100 is also simple to use and clears codes fast. Also, you can leave it in your glovebox for on the go diagnosis. Lets say you went on a trip and the check engine light came on. You could find out what the code is and decide if you think it needs immediate attention or not. In today's world it is getting harder and harder to find a good mechanic and one who actually dig deep into a problem. I am headed to Dallas today for a 4 day class at the Nissan training center. If I don't respond right away, please understand I will be on the road and I will respond as soon as I am able to sir. Thanks
