JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: It's coming from the engine. I've dropped the tank and installed a new lift pump, new filter and fresh fuel.

from your description, the first thing I would do is remove the valve cover and inspect the valve train.
