Customer Question
I have a 2010...

I have a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country Touring with a 3.8L The van's transmission started slipping and will slip in and out periodically

Mechanic's Assistant: This is potentially serious. How long has it been going on?

Started doing this on Sunday. Only drove it to O'reilly's to get the "check engine light" results

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Town and Country yourself? What have you tried so far?

Got the codes off the engine

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Could it simply be a sensor/switch that is out, causing the rest of the codes to trip???
Dodge Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 11 months ago

not with those faults.

and its slipping. its only going to get worse.

It just happened "out of the blue". We just drove the thing 2000 miles round trip on vacation two weeks prior without any issues. There has been no issues leading up to this. So everything internally just ups and breaks down altogether? What would be the cause?
Dodge Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 11 months ago

you need to have that evaluated by a transmission shop. I can only tell you with that many faults and what those faults are and the fact the transmission is slipping its needs an overhaul

As disappointing as an answer that is, I guess that will be all.

what would you like me to tell you? sometimes its not the best news in the world. take care

I AM VERY GLAD THAT I TOOK A CHANCE ON YOUR PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS. I WAS SUCCESSFUL IN REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP. MY TRUCK RUNS LIKE A CLOCK. IT RUNS LIKE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. NO LUNGING FORWARD, THE TURBO REACTS THE SECOND I STOMP ON THE GAS, AND IT HAS A LOT MORE POWER AND EVEN SOUNDS BETTER TO ME. IT SAVED ABOUT $500.00 BY DOING THE WORK MYSELF. I GIVE YOU ALL THE CREDIT FOR YOUR DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, JUST FROM THE SYMPTONS I GAVE YOU OVER THE e MAIL. I WILL USE YOUR WEB SITE AGAIN AND REFER MY FRIENDS. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP.
