Hi my name is Barry. Thank you for using Just Answer. I would be happy to help you with your Ram. Give me just a moment to pull the information up for you.
Here is the diagram I have for it. If it doesn't match up let me know.
I assume the wiring colors are not the same on the new connector?
The diagram that I sent has the pin numbers to the connector.
Ok I have a 22 pin 2003 Ram Infiniti plug in my hand. We'll figure this out.
looking at the back of the plug where the wires go in. The top left wire is the number one terminal. It should be connected to the pink wire from the vehicle.
Ok give me just a minute and I will give you a list of what to hook to what based on you pictures.
Ok I think I can give you a list of what to hook up from your pictures. It should be pretty easy from there. There is an external amplifier but just one installed behind the upper right side of the dash.
And my harness in my hand is the opposite of the one you have so I said left but it will be right instead. But I will have a list for you in a moment.
I'm here. I'm Typing out the direction now.
pink/blk pink (both pink wires are the same)
Does that make sense to you? I'm sorry I tried to make it look better but it took all my spaces out when it posted it. I will be here.
Just let me know if something doesn't work right and we'll figure it out.
Ok let me look and see what they go to.
Try Brown/red for the black/red on the car side.
The blue/red on the car should be the right front speaker -
The purple from the car should be the right front speaker +
They should come from the amplifier not the speaker though.
You are correct. There should be 2 brown/red wires unfortunately. One is switched V+ the other is the Left front speaker -.
Do you see 2 brown/red wires?
Ok I think I found the problem. I will write another diagram. The infiniti and non infiniti digrams are labeled wrong in mitchell.
Harness - car
pink/blk - pink
red/white - brown/red
orange - lt blue/violet
purple - blue/blk
blue/red - lt green/dk green
blk/red - green/red
black - black/green
purple/yellow - violet/blue or blue/violet(it changes as it goes)
brown/yellow - wht/red
brown/blue - white/blk
blue/orange - tan/blk
blue/white - tan/violet
black - blk/green
I don't believe the 2 from the harness are used. I don't have the orange and blue either. Try hooking the radio up and see what speakers work and what doesn't.
Is it possible your green/brown is green/red?
Try this this diagram left the orange/blue wire off. That threw a couple of wires off.
orange - orange/blue
blue/red - lt blue/violet
Green - lt green/dk green
That should just leave the green/red from the plug unhooked.
That green/red wire is the 12+ trigger wire for the systems with the external amplifier. The diagram that matches your wire colors doesn't have an external amplifier and that wire is unused.
Yes give me just a moment.
You are wiring the Clarion unit to another harness that plugs into the one you just installed in the car correct?
All but a few of your wires should match color to color. You will not need the blue or blue/white wires unless you have an aftermarket sub or power antenna. the purple/white wire goes to your reverse lamp circuit and the "grass-green" wire goes to the parking brake wire.
You may not have the wires that go to the reverse and parking brake.
The black is your ground wire.
Ok if you don't have the wire at the dash for the amplifier then you will need to locate the amplifier and run its trigger wire back to the radio. Let's start by locating the amplifier. It is behind the upper right side of the dash. I'm attaching the removal instructions for the amp. You don't need to remove it just locate it.
