The engine surges at idle and during driving, at an idle at 600 rpm it will occasionally surge up to 1200 rpm. This also happens some during driving.
JA: How many miles are on the car? What size is the engine?
Customer: It is a 2001 1500 Ram w/ 195,000 miles and a 5.8 engine.
JA: Are you fixing your 1500 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Have done nothing yet, not sure where to start.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No that is all I have but I have to leave for a while, back in a couple of hours.
