My 91 dodge diesel has no computer that I know of all

My 91 dodge diesel has no computer that I know of all electrical is 1 year old starter is 5 month old checked all cables they are tight charging 13.6 volts will not start with out jumping it or putting charger on boost. What could be my problem/

What is the battery voltage when you are trying to turn the engine over?

Then you have a bad battery. The voltage should not drop below 10.5 volts.

The battery can have a bad cell in it, and only show a problem under a load.

We will take the battery and the starter to AutoZone and have them tested.

Do you have an advance or Oreily's near you? I have been getting alot of horror stories about there battery's and starters as well as alternators lately.

With this truck being diesel it should have two battery's. you need to have them both checked.
