2001 Dodge 1500, my seatbelt light stays on If I push down

Customer Question

2001 Dodge 1500, my seatbelt light stays on
If I push down on the buckle it goes off. I replaced the seatbelt socket end with the orange button but it still does the same thing. Airbag light works, comes on and goes off after self test. I'm at a loss

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you with all of your vehicle questions today. Give me one moment while I review your question and come back with a answer. Please be aware I do not know your skill level or abilities so I will be asking a lot of questions and in a lot of cases we will respond to each other quite a lot before we find a solution. As far as phone calls are concerned that is the system prompting you, not me, and they do cost more money, I prefer text but in some cases a phone call is required.

Sounds like it needs a internal adjustment have you tried taking it apart and inspecting it

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
It doesn't look like you can take it apart

then the buckle is either broken or your new part is bad
