I just replace the battery today since the truck ( Dodge Ram

Customer Question

I just replace the battery today since the truck ( Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi ) would not start even though the new battery is good. I just clicks and will not turn over. I would assume it's the starter but I am not a mechanic.
JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: Just started and the clicking is coming from the starter area
JA: What year is your Ram?
Customer: 2006
JA: Are you fixing your Ram yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I usually handle the minor issues but a starter is a bit much for me.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Well what causes the starter to go out and what does it sound like when I try to start the truck?

Hello, do you hear one click or constant clicks when you try to start?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
As long as I hold the ignition it will click so it goes click, click, click while the key is engaged.

Don't call because I am in a meeting right now. Please let me know if you think it's the starter. I replaced the battery today.
It was starting all day until I kept trying to make it fail and it did. It will not start now and only click.

No need to call, ignore the pop up.

Constant clicks usually point towards a battery issue, starter should only click once. How many times dd you start before it quit starting?
