Customer Question

Greetings. Seems like Im not getting any fuel. When I try to start, cranks strong but wont start
JA: Have you checked the engine's fuel supply? And the spark plugs -- are they all working?
Customer: yes I have a 1/4 tank of gas
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2007 charger srt8
JA: Are you fixing your Charger SRT8 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I made sure the starter relay was not a problem. I had just started my car for the first time in a few days with the temperature decline severly since I had last driven it.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I had started it up. and went to try again a fe minutes later to no luck

Hi, I'm Ron and I will be helping you today.
Stand by for a moment while I prepare your answer.

Expert:  rpmdiag replied 9 months ago.

The problem can be a loss of spark or fuel. You can check for
spark at the plugs with a spark tester.
You can check fuel pressure with a gauge and both of these tools
should be available to you at your
local parts store for rent or purchase.
You need to check for any stored codes in the computer with a
code reader or a scan tool.
The code reader only gives the codes and definitions, where the
scan tool gives you all
the needed data to diagnose the codes.

Check compression too for jumped time.

Thanks, Ron

WHy would it start one moment and 5 minutes later not turn over?
Expert:  rpmdiag replied 9 months ago.

A bad fuel pump armature will do that if it has a flat spot on it.

Thanks again and please remember to rate me 5 stars and keep this link in case you need me again later on.
