Customer Question

I have a 2002 dodge stratus. It keeps jerking when I brake but only at 30 mph and coming down from 40 or more.

Hello, my name is***** the transmission fluid was really low then one of two things is probably still occurring. You either have some air in the system which driving will help, but if the low fluid caused internal damage then it will not get better. If the fluid was low enough then it could have caused the internal clutch packs to wear prematurely. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need anything else.

What's a safe time-frame to set before starting to think the worse if two. Or how many miles?

if the internal clutch packs are prematurely wearing then what should I do?

After about 50 miles or so it should work its way out. If it is a clutch pack issue then you are looking at a transmission rebuild.
