Recently my 2013 Dodge Dart Limited 1.4t with manual

Customer Question

Recently my 2013 Dodge Dart Limited 1.4t with manual transmission the ESC light comes on like every morning which is strange and by the evening it is gone
JA: Has the clutch been slipping? Are you having any trouble shifting?
Customer: No
JA: Are you fixing your Dart yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Nothing I haven't tried fixing it because the manual states that if the light turns off you are fine. The manual that comes with the dart
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I do have a short shifter installed on the car but I have been having the short shifter for abut 3 months without a problem I even made a 3,000 mile trip without issues

Here is my VIN number 1C3CDFCH3DD703391 codes are setting not sure what that is but but it's the ESC light

You will need a scantool to retrieve the codes so I can see what's going on..

ok does it need to be a super fancy scan tool or will my $50.00 dollar scan tool work?
Expert:  -Brad- replied 9 months ago.

I would use my WITech scantool on your vehicle which costs 4,500. The cheaper code readers will only retrieve ODBII codes like misfires and O2, you will need an actual scantool to see what's going on with your Dart..
