I have a 2011 challenger SRT8 with a miss on 2 cylinders

Customer Question

I have a 2011 challenger SRT8 with a miss on 2 cylinders 155000 on the odometer. was told by a mechanic friend that dodge has a lifter/camshaft issue. any truth to this rumor. or do I just need a tune-up
JA: Are you fixing your Challenger SRT8 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: not me the newer engines have exceeded my shadetree skills. He put a OBDII tester and read out a code that told him I was missing on 2
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: NO engine misses bad at idle and barely made it home the other day was able to get it to the shop this am but I wasant told the actual code just what it meant.
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 2011 challenger srt8 with 392 engine
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: just want to have a clue when the mechanic at the dealer calls me later

there is a lot of truth to that rumpr, but i would start with checking the plugs and coils...try swappingcols from other cylinders and see if the miss fire changes...think simple first

If lifters and cam is involved sound expensive, any estimate
Expert:  xsvector replied 11 months ago.

3000 dollars or so...all the lifters get changed along with the camsshaft
