Customer Question

looking to remove a stuck rear brake rotor. for the most part it seems that it might be held on because of the parking brake, but the parking brake isn't set in the car
JA: Have your brakes ever been replaced? Have you checked the brake fluid?
Customer: brakes have been changed fluid is fine
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2010 charger sxt
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: hitting the rotor to free it up. it just seems like the parking brake shoes might be holding it on
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: that's it

Hello I will help you with your question,

If the rotor will pull out from the hub the park brake shoes need to be backed off to allow them to clear. On the inside of the backing plate there is a rubber plug. Reach in through there with a brake adjusting tool or a small flat screwdriver and turn the star wheel you find inside. One direction tightens the shoes and the other loosens. Run it all the way in the loosen direction.
