JA: Have you tested the battery? Do you hear a clicking when you try and start the car?
Customer: Battery is good
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2007 dodge Durango
JA: Are you fixing your Durango yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Checked battery lost all power to car
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

how do you know that the battery is good? if the battery is good, you should be able to start the car. the alternator has nothing to do with starting the car .

and when you were driving it, at anytime did the red battery light come on before it died?

no, its the alternator but check the connections at the alternator first before we condemn it. in the meantime ill get you instructions on replacement

WARNING: Disconnect negative cable from battery before removing battery output wire (B+ wire) from generator. Failure to do so can result
in injury or damage to electrical system.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable at battery.
2. Remove generator drive belt.
3. Unsnap plastic insulator cap from B+ output terminal.
4. Remove B+ terminal mounting nut at rear of generator. Disconnect terminal from generator.
5. Disconnect field wire connector at rear of generator by pushing on connector tab.
6. Remove generator support bracket nuts and bolt (3) and (4) and remove support bracket (2).

7. Remove 2 generator mounting bolts (1) and (3).
8. Remove generator (2) from vehicle
