Last few days, I start it up, then it has a loud rattling

Last few days, I start it up, then it has a loud rattling noise under the hood. After it idles though it noise lowers and then after I drive it, no noise at all. Also during the day when I restart my truck no noise at all either. Only first thing in the morning. After that is runs with no noise at all, engine sounds good and I am OK. But something has to be up. I have had a lot of work on this truck this year. Most recently a brand new radiator and hoses about a few weeks ago.
JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: As I said a few days and it is under the hood. But it is too dark for me to look around.
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2001 1500 extended cab 5.9L engine
JA: Are you fixing your Cab yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Oh no I am no mechanic. I have tried nothing
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
