Had the heads shaved, now it doesn't want to run
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2005 Durango 5.7
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: motor was running hot and losing water, had the heads resurfaced, reinstalled heads, engine will not idle
JA: What part of the car is the leak coming from? And are you sure it's water?
Customer: it was losing water, no visible indications
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?

Ok, did you use standard aftermarket headgaskets without taking into account the amount shaved off the heads, or did the machine shop tell you how many mm they shaved off and you used gaskets that were thicker than the factory ones to account for amount shaved off the heads?
