Was updating unconnect system with usb drive, pulled usb

Customer Question

was updating unconnect system with usb drive, pulled usb drive out. Screen is black , tried to reset using the two knobs, didn't work. Tried holding down the VR and phone for 30 seconds. didn't work. Turned off for 2.5 hours, still black screen

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

Whether the update failed on it's own or it failed because the flash drive was removed before the update was done, it has left the radio in an unprogrammed state. One thing you can do is try a battery disconnect and see if it will come back, but in any case I've seen where a radio failed during an update a battery disconnect didn't help. The radio will almost surely need to be replace.
