Good morning and welcome to JustAnswer!!

My name is ***** ***** I have worked for a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealership for 19 years and I will do my best to help.

If the blower motor resistor is getting hot and failing then the blower motor is drawing too many amps, to correct your issues you will need a new resistor as well as a new blower motor. Once you replace both you will be in good shape..
