I recently replaced the front evaporator on my 2007 dodge

Customer Question

I recently replaced the front evaporator on my 2007 dodge Durango. after evacuating the system and recharging all I get is hot air. the readings are 40lb on the low side and 200 on the high side the compressor is on but the suction side stays hot. I replaced the expansion valve but nothing. I by passed the heater core same results.

Hi Im David, the low pressure line is ok to be hot. the high side needs to be cold and sweating as it goes into the evaporator.

do the pressure switches cylcle on and off at the correct pressures?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
the low and high are both hot
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
how are the pressure switches are supposed to cycle
Expert:  david craig replied 11 months ago.

after the receiver/drier before it goes into the firewall?

Expert:  david craig replied 11 months ago.

the low side is supposed to kick on at around 20 and kick off around 40-45. then the high side takes over and will kick off around 250-300 and come back down waiting to kick on again and so on

Expert:  david craig replied 11 months ago.

Expert:  david craig replied 11 months ago.

I am glad you fixed the issue and here is a typical ac system. have a good day.
