Customer Question

The #3 keeps reading a misfire code. What could it be?
JA: Have you seen the misfire code before? Has the car been stalling?
Customer: It hasn't stalled or anything like that, just starts idling a bit rough and the check engine light keeps coming on even after the code has cleared.
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2001 dodge ram 1500 3.9 liter v6 x
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I've also replaced the cap and rotor button on the distributor as well.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: That's all i've got.

Hello. A misfire could have multiple causes. spark plugs, spark plug wire, fuel injector, valve problem, compression, etc. Have you already replaced the spark plugs and wires?
