Horn started honking like alarm was set off, and now it wont

Customer Question

Horn started honking like alarm was set off , and now it wont stop. I have disconnected the negative battery terminal for 30 minutes and reconnected. It still blares the horn when I reconnect the battery terminal.
JA: Does the engine turn over? How old is the battery?
Customer: Engine turns over. Battery is aprox. 2 yrs. old
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2008 Dodge Nitro SLT
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes. I can't drive it even to the dealership with the horn blaring
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: This started happening yesterday. After running out and trying to get it to stop several times I simply disconnected the battery.

Hello, my first thought is going to be a horn switch stuck, It is under the drivers airbag, I can not be 100% as not there but sounds like horns switch so,, you have 2 fuses for the horn, BOTH are in the under hood fuse box, You are looking for fuse M22 and M23 and both are 10 amp fuses, I would remove them so you can travel, Here is a diagram but little hard to see, They are located little towards the top in this picture ond to the right slightly or pretty close to center, You may have a label showing fuse M22 and M23 so remove both of them
