Dodge Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello and welcome to just answer. Does the check engine light come on when this happens?
Ok, well the problem is most likely a fuel injector that is acting up. That explains the misfire and smoke. The thing is to determine which injector is failing. Usually a diagnostic trouble code will set and tell you which injector needs to be replaced. Do you have a scan tool or code reader?
I see, were they new injectors or refurbished ones?
Ok. You may have a bad one though. See if you can get a code reader or scan tool connected to the truck and see if there are any trouble codes. Then let me know.
Will keep an eye out for your reply this week.
Are you getting a crankshaft sensor trouble code?
Hmmm, ok, let me know how it goes,
Good move. I see issues with the aftermarket ones.
