Hello and welcome to just answer. Does the check engine light come on when this happens?

Not every time it first done this last year and was fine for about 8or9 months

Ok, well the problem is most likely a fuel injector that is acting up. That explains the misfire and smoke. The thing is to determine which injector is failing. Usually a diagnostic trouble code will set and tell you which injector needs to be replaced. Do you have a scan tool or code reader?

I replaced injectors about 40000 miles ago

I see, were they new injectors or refurbished ones?

Chris

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
They were new
Expert:  Chris replied 12 months ago.

Ok. You may have a bad one though. See if you can get a code reader or scan tool connected to the truck and see if there are any trouble codes. Then let me know.

I am going to try a crankshaft sensor
Expert:  Chris replied 12 months ago.

Are you getting a crankshaft sensor trouble code?

Chris

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
Talked to a buddy told him what truck was doing he said he had a friend that had same trouble and it was his crankshaft sensor so I am going to start with that
Expert:  Chris replied 12 months ago.

Hmmm, ok, let me know how it goes,

Chris

Ok I ordered it from dodge did not want aftermarket
