2012 Grand Caravan - crew. 91k. Emergency Brake light comes

Customer Question

2012 Grand Caravan - crew.
91k. Emergency Brake light comes on randomly when not engaged. Tire pressure warning on, but tires are not low. Rear AC switches to heat/hi on its own. Have to be related. What's up?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

You have a few different problems going.

The red brake warning light will come on when the emergency brake is set, there is a short to ground on the switch circuit, brake fluid is low or there is a fluid level sensor circuit issue, or the ABS module can turn it on because of an ABS issue. The most likely cause for it coming on by itself would be low brake fluid level.

The tire pressure light is either coming on because of a low tire or failure in the system. If the tires are set to 36 PSI cold and the light does not go off then odds are you have a bad sensor.

If the rear HVAC temperature changes on it's own and it isn't set to auto then you most likely have a control head issue if it's changing temperature and blower motor speed.

Brake fluid added. Light off. Added air, light off. Will take the van in to have the AC checked.
